Unto us a Child is born;

“The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness on them light has shined.”(Isaiah 9:2 (NRSVUE)

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
(‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Imagine, yes, try and just imagine hearing these words spoken for the first time? Or, maybe this is your first time as you read this! Or, maybe you walked through a store and saw it printed on a greeting card? A banner hanging in a neighbor’s yard? You turned on the radio and heard? Just imagine! What would you think? The best, what are you thinking?

Sure rings loud and clear. Hope! How do we find this Son? Is he in the earth today? What can you tell us about him?

If we find him will we find light shining on all this darkness we, the people, are daily seeing?

Is this a new movie just released in the theatre? A new broadway show? Could this be for one nation? All nations? Will it help nations at war? Children starving? Help? Hope?

I read this Headline early this morning, 12/7/25;

“Young adults are waiting in line to worship at this fast-growing Atlanta church”

Where is this child? Let us find Him?

Dark and Light

  1. Sara, there is so much and many questions you pose to reflect upon in this blog.

    “How do we find this Son? Is he in the earth today? What can you tell us about him?”

    One scripture of hope that came to mind regarding the first question was, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

    And regarding the second and third question of where He is today, etc.:
    “When Jesus had led them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them. / While He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.” Luke 24:50-51

    “So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.” Mark 16:19

    “After He had said this, they watched as He was taken up, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. / They were looking intently into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. / “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11

    “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.“ John 14:18-19

    “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:25-26

    “…will we find light shining on all this darkness we, the people, are daily seeing?…”

    Sara, your photo “Dark and Light” clearly shows us from God’s creation that there is both. Here are a few scriptures I found that related.

    “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4-5

    “The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world” John 1:9

    “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19

    “Could this be for one nation? All nations? “

    “And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.” Dan 7:14

    Matt:28:19 tells us that this ‘Son’ told His disciples on earth to: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matt 28:19.

    This seems to tell us that He has come for all nations.

  2. The footnotes for Isaiah 9:2-6 says, (NLT) “ “In a time of great darkness, God promised to send a light who would shine on everyone living in the shadow of death. He is both ‘Wonderful Counselor’ and “Mighty God”. This message of hope was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the establishment of his eternal Kingdom. he came to deliver all people from their slavery to sin.”

    I can’t leave this blog without sharing these verses also, John 3:16-17(NLT) “ for God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world, not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.”

    The Christ child, our ONLY hope! From the cradle to the cross ✝️🙏

  3. “This message of hope was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the establishment of his eternal Kingdom. he came to deliver all people from their slavery to sin.”

    ”for God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him.”

    So exciting to read all scriptures and notes shared. We found him, the Son, in scriptures. Now let us get to know him. I’m inviting us to read again his description, “His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

    We now understand he wants to be a friend to all of us, yes, all. Let’s start our communication, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” (James 4:8) Talk to him and see how things go. Talk to us here if you like.

    Maybe a friend might know him already and will help guide us to the next steps. Stop by a church where you see a light! If you feel fear because of a part of life that we try to hide. Keep in mind his ID, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” He will be all of that to each of us.
