God said;

“…God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.”

Have you ever wondered and thought things seem so dark, overwhelming and beyond hope and help?

The Lord’s prayer is truly a salve for hopelessness. Jesus taught us to pray to our Heavenly Father “let your will be done on earth as in heaven.”

I’ve been praying, “let there be light! Why, you might ask? Because God saw light and said it’s very good.

Light vs Dark

My devotional group prayer this week from “Today’s Reflections” collectively prayed;

“God, you are always bringing about your kingdom on earth. Give me the presence of mind to see your grace and love all around me. Amen”

I invite you to “Join” us this week as we pray this prayer together.

I’m beginning to feel the Hope of Grace and Love from Jesus, the Light, giving me “presence of mind” to be and do as I share my light for others to see through words of truth.

Yes, let there be light! Let your light shine!

    That is Hope, Sara! And what you wrote and the photo are very encouraging!

    I do join your devotional group prayer, “God, you are always bringing about your kingdom on earth. Give me the presence of mind to see your grace and love all around me. Amen”. Thank you for inviting us.

    Gazing at the photo of what seems like the glowing embers of a fire, coupled with your words, “I’m beginning to feel the Hope of Grace and Love from Jesus, the Light, giving me “presence of mind” to be and do as I share my light for others to see through words of truth. Yes, let there be light! Let your light shine!” …brought this song to mind, “It Only Takes A Spark”.

    Many of us have probably sung this verse at some time or other, “It only takes a spark, to get a fire going, And soon all those around, can warm up in glowing. That’s how it is with God’s love, Once you’ve experienced it, You spread his love to everyone; You want to pass it on.”

  2. Sara, you have asked, “Have you ever wondered and thought things seem so dark, overwhelming and beyond hope and help?” I would have to say that there have been times in my life that have felt “overwhelming and beyond hope and help”. I am thankful for God and His promises. John 8: 12 says:( NLT) “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘ I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” Yes, “God saw light and said it’s very good.”🙏

  3. Jesus surely is the Master storyteller. I love this story he shared to help open our minds on how to go and do likewise so our light will shine.

    I carefully read Debi and Tammy’s comments bringing accountable to do and be and shine.

    I have tried to daily make notes to myself if this mission is daily accomplished.

    “Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.””
