Wall in Orthopedic Office
I saw this wall recently in an Orthopedic Doctor’s office where one might just get a new knee or other medical help to make one able to move better without pain. I thought that’s a real hopeful idea to think about as one makes changes with help and maybe a little more pain to accomplish their goal.
New adventures; awaits for one as they seek and receive medical help for a new knee and that’s exciting. I began to ponder as exciting as medical help for knees might be think about the same help and hope for our aching souls.
It’s there, always there! Jesus is waiting for our surrender. The Holy Spirit is waiting to guide us into truth, love, peace and joy. This scripture just seems to be the prescription for our new adventure to begin;
“a) Don’t lie to each other. b) Take off the old human nature with its practices and ((c) put on the new nature, which is renewed in knowledge by (d) conforming to the image of the (e) one (Christ) who created it.” (Colossians 3:9-10 CEB)
To continue with our therapy; You might find studying Chaper 3 of Colossians to be helpful.
“And over all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.”
Colossians 3:14 CEB

The footnotes for Colossians 3: 8-10 says: (NLT) “We must rid ourselves of all evil practices and immorality. Then we can commit ourselves to what Christ teaches. Paul was urging the believers to remain true to their confession of faith. They were to rid themselves of the old life and put on the new nature given by Christ. If you have made such a commitment to Christ, are you remaining true to it ?”
I read this very verse yesterday in Colossions 3:12, and would like to share now: (NIV) “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” I must admit that sometimes it is a struggle, but thankfully, as Sara reminded us above that the “Holy Spirit is waiting to guide us…”🙏🙏🙏
Heavenly Father, I lift up the one in need of help for a new knee. I ask that you go before them and give them and their doctor wisdom, understanding, and guidance for the proper help. In Jesus name I ask this. Amen
The photo of the wall really depicts Sara’s blog I think, as well as Colossians 3.
These words of Sara’s stood out to me: “I began to ponder as exciting as medical help for knees might be think about the same help and hope for our aching souls.
It’s there, always there! Jesus is waiting for our surrender.”
And as I read Col 3, these verses struck me: “…seek the things that are above…(vs 1); Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. (vs 2); …admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (vs 16)
Reflecting on the above, I kept thinking of one of Sara’s songs written many years ago, but one which I feel is so very applicable, needful, and timely for the “therapy” today of our “aching souls”.
Jesus is Waiting There
There are so many that have crossed the road
They’ve crossed the road to their wealth, or so they say;
But they have missed the path,
The path the Savior walked to endure, to endure to the last.
O, I hear the cry of the Savior say
Come back, come back to me, my wandering child,
O hear My voice that pleads to your soul of woe
O, lay aside those weights and come home to me.
For the Master waits for your hand to raise
And join the hand of your Hope;
For it’s His Hand that will cross the foes
Of all your dark, of all your dark and gloomy days.
So hear Your Master say, My light never dims.
My peace within will be a stronghold for Your soul.
O, let me in, O let me in, I cry today.
For you will find Me there, you’ll find Me waiting there,
I’m waiting there at the door of your soul
To release the chains of your pain.
So hear Me when I say Come back to Me, my child,
Come back to Me, to the place of My rest.
Look up, Look up past the days of gloom,
And let My Mourning Dove arise in your heart.
You’ll find I’m there and waiting for your call
Saying, O, Jesus, saying O Jesus, saying O Jesus, I want to come home.

Thanks Tammy for your prayers for those of us who are inquiring about knee replacements. There were many in office where I was getting a knee shot. I’ve been inquiring about the possibility of replacement. Thank you for prayers.
And, I join with you in prayers for others as well.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Tammy, Thanks for the encouraging footnotes. I’m going to try and focus on the words, “rid” and “clothe”. I agree with the personal struggle you noted and I share. The thought I was walking around with, am I struggling because I have not properly applied “rid”?
I join my prayers with Tammy and Sara, also, for those in need of solutions and help with their knees.
Debi, I greatly appreciate your sharing the words of “Jesus is waiting” to hear from us!
Debi wrote, “And as I read Col 3, these verses struck me: “…seek the things that are above…(vs 1); Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. (vs 2); …admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
When I finished watching the horrific news of war in Iran, Ukraine, and other spots, and pain and struggle for the hurting deep inside seem to start my complaint of earthly things to no avail of help forthcoming. Yet, as stated on Col 3:1,2, you shared my mind was in the wrong place. Surely, it was not on things above and truly not remembering that “Jesus is waiting there.”
I believe Col 3 is a great chapter to study for a book club and sharing to give us daily encouragement.
Jesus] responded, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.”
