RUTS to GUTTERS
This weekend I had the opportunity to make startling discovery about “change”, the new spiritual regime that is coming forth; the new shift in the Spirit; new ways of looking and perceiving in the Spirit; the new mandate in the Body of Christ. Yes! It is inevitable that change must come. And we need change; change that has integrity; unity, worth and divine purpose in the Church. I am just wondering, however, if it is also true that change for change’s sake is truly legitimate? Is the “change” being made truly mandated by the HOLY SPIRIT or is it the to the fancy of man that some of these changes are being instituted or established in the church?. In the Book of Acts which we have been studying under Gary, the Holy Spirit administered and executed the swift changes and innovations in the early BODY OF CHRIST that were of gargantuan proportion. Through His administration and tContinue reading “RUTS to GUTTERS”
Candles in the Darkness
How can I use my talents to glorify my Father in Heaven. As I was thinking about this question, I began to picture a room filled with darkness. This room is so dark you cannot see your hand in front of your face. Then I pictured one candle being lit in this dark room. I thought of how much light one little candle can produce. The dark room is engulfed with light from one little candle. Then I pictured two or three candles. Think about how much light is produced by two or three candles. The dark room is completely lit. The darkness is removed through the awesome light that shines in one, two, three or more candles that are brightly burning. These candles represent God’s children. When his children gather in darkness and use their talents for God’s glory, the darkness vanishes and the light takes over. This is awesome. As we use our gifts and talents to glorify the Lord we are destroyinContinue reading “Candles in the Darkness”
Compulsion from Within
James 1:25 “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues it it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
I like to be rewarded for my work, don’t you? James says we will be if we are in the right place and doing the right thing.
I sometimes walk around for days and maybe months asking why I am not producing, being rewarded and seeing results in the things I do? It becomes an enigma for me to solve about my own life. I read Jersey’s blog on adversity and realized I too seem to have plenty of it. But Jersey spoke loud and clear that God is the answer and has been for her. She is being rewarded for the work she does.
I read Wendy’s two blogs on The Man Who Walked Into Heaven and The Wake-up Call. Surely this will put a chill in your bones. Yet, she laid out Biblical solutions and encouragement for us in her two stContinue reading “Compulsion from Within”
10 Fall gardening tips
Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season. A time for every purpose under heaven.”
1.Plant bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, snowdrops, hyacinths and crocuses
now for beautiful blooms next spring.
2 Fertilize your lawn (fall’s the best time for fescues, bluegrass and ryes).
3.Plant hardy winter pansies in full sun for color all winter and spring.
4.Start a compost pile with the fall leaves you rake up. Your garden will
thank you.
5.If you don’t want a compost pile, skip raking or blowing your leaves this
fall. Chop them up with your lawn mower (mulching blade preferred) and put
them right back on your lawn with no adverse effects.
6.Sow a cover crop (green manure) such as winter rye over your garden bed.
7.Bring tender plants inside but wash their leaves with a water or a mild
soap solution first to remove any insects. Pots can also be soaked in a warm
tub of water foContinue reading “10 Fall gardening tips”
Adversity
ADVERSITY ITSELF ISN’T A GREAT TEACHER, BUT I’VE OFTEN LEARNED A LOT WHILE FACING ADVERSITY. DURING THOSE TIMES. I’VE FELT CURIOUSLY CLOSER TO GOD AND KNOW OF MY GREAT NEED FOR HIM.
I’VE ALSO BECOME KEENLY AWARE THAT I DON’T HAVE ALL OF THE ANSWERS. AND PERHAPS I’VE BEEN MORE WILLING TO HUMBLE MYSELF IN ORDER TO HEAR THE DIRECTION GOD HAS ORDERED FOR MY LIFE.
I’VE DISCOVERED THAT WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR ME IS FAR GREATER THAN ANYTHING I CAN THINK UP. AND I’VE LEARNED NOT TO BUCKLE UNDER ADVERSITY, BUT TO MAINTAIN HOPE AND ANTICIPATION REGARDING THE OUTCOME.
IN FACT, I’VE EVEN HEARD MYSELF ASKING FROM TIME TO TIME. “WELL I’VE REALLY DONE IT, GOD, SO HOW ARE YOU GOING TO GET ME OUT OF THIS ONE?’ IT HASN’T ALWAYS BEEN EASY. SOMETIMES I’VE HAD TO BATTLE DISCOURAGEMENT AND FEAR. BUT WHEN I’VE BEEN QUIET ENOUGH TO REALLY LISTEN FOR GOD’S GUIDANCE, I’VE BEEN ABLE TO HEAR IT.

Game
This game has been a favorite of many children. I hope you out there will also enjoy it. If you want you can make little men the size of giant
gingerbread men (about 8 inches in length) and put the statement on one side and the answer on the other. I will give you ten at a time to see how well
you do. You will need to make about 50 cardstock gingerbread men in all. I will let you know how you did. Here goes:
1. I was stoned for my belief in Jesus. Saul, later known as Paul,
watched me being stoned. Who am I?
2. I denied Jesus three times before the cock crowed. Who am I?
3. I am King Saul’s son. I was best friends with David. Who am I?
4. I am the Bread of Life that gives Life, the Living Bread. Who am I?
5. I was Isaac’s son. I stole my brother’s birthright. Who am I?
6. I was a wee little man that climbed the sycamore tree to see Jesus. Who
am I?
7. IContinue reading “Game”
