“The Wake-UP Call”

Genesis 6:5-8 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the Lord said “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing- all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them. “But Noah found favor with the Lord.”

During Noah’s day the world was filled with violence. Adam and Eve’s child and grandchildren were walking their own and not walking with God. They were arguing, fighting, killing, lusting, committing sex sin, and doing whatever they pleased. This was Chapter 6 of the very first book of the Bible. The people of Noah’s day walContinue reading ““The Wake-UP Call””

THE MAN WHO WALKED INTO HEAVEN

Every night my boys ask me to read them a Bible story I have an old set of books with Bible stories that I had when I was a child. The other night I read my boys a story titled THE MAN WHO WALKED INTO HEAVEN. This story was discussing Genesis 5:21-24. Verse 21 When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. Verse 22 After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in CLOSE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD for another 300 years and he had sons and daughters. Verse 23-24 Enoch lived 365 years, WALKING IN CLOSE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD. Then one day he disappeared, because GOD TOOK HIM.

As I read this story I began thinking about Enoch. The life span for this generation was on the average about 900 and plus years. Methuselah who was Enoch’s son lived to be 969. Our average life span is about 80 years. Sometimes I have a difficult time finding sixty minutes to spend with God. Enoch walked in aContinue reading “THE MAN WHO WALKED INTO HEAVEN”

Baptism

As a mother, I have received the best gift ever, recently. My two boys decided to receive Christ and to obey Him in baptism. What a day of rejoicing for my husband and myself, along with all the angels in heaven! Please help
me pray that God will continue to keep their hearts soft before Him and that they will always be sensitive to His calling on their lives.

AWARENESS

Jeremiah 1:11-12 Message “God’s Message came to me, What do you see Jeremiah? I said, A walking stick-thats all. And God said, Good eyes! I’m sticking with you. I’ll make every word I give you come true.”

Flu shots available this year. No shortage as posted in my physicians office. This office has made me aware of the flu shot available, now what does that mean to me? I will not get the flu because I am aware of the shot being available?

Unfold in the Arms of Love or Unravel in the Soul

Unfold or Unravel? This always makes me think of a song that stays near and dear to many of our hearts. I can just hear Barbara Streisand singing now,

Alfie,
What’s it all about
Alfie
Is it just for the moment we live
What’s it all about
When you sort it out
Alfie
Are we meant to take more than we give
Or are we meant to be kind
And if only fools are kind
Alfie
Then I guess
It is wise to be cruel
And if life belongs
Only to the strong
Alfie
What will you lend on
An old golden rule
As sure as I believe
There’s a heaven above
Alfie
I know there’s something much more
Something even non-believers
Can believe in
I believe in love
Alfie
Without true love you just exist
Alfie
Until you find the love you’ve missed
You’re nothing
Alfie….
When you walk let your heart lead the way
And you’ll find love any day
Alfie…

God has a Purpose for your Life

I was reading in Jeremiah this morning and I thought of all of us on The Daily Lily.

“I knew you before I formed you in my mother’s womb. Before you were
born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”(NLT)
At the bottom of the page it reads (1:5) “” God knew you, as He knew
Jeremiah, long before you were born or even conceived. He thought about you
and planned for you. When you feel discouraged or inadequate, remember that
God has always thought of you as valuable and that he has a purpose in mind
for you. (1:6-8) “Often people struggle with new challenges because they
lack self-confidence, feeling that they have inadequate ability, training,
or experience. Jeremiah thought he was ‘too young’ and inexperienced to be
God’s prophet to the nations. But God promised to be with him. We should not
allow feelings of inadequacy to keep us from obeyiContinue reading “God has a Purpose for your Life”

Wrapped in Prayer

One morning as I was walking and praying for a friend in need, God brought
the scripture Mark 2 to my mind. It reads from the Message bible in this
manner:

“After a few days, Jesus returned to Capernaum, and word got around that he
was back home. A crowd gathered, jamming the entrance so no one could get
in or out. He was teaching the Word. They brought a paraplegic to him,
carried by four men. When they weren’t able to get in because of the crowd,
they removed part of the roof and lowered the paraplegic on his stretcher.
Impressed by their bold belief, Jesus said to the paraplegic, “Son, I
forgive your sins.”…”Get up. Pick up your stretcher and go home.” And the
man did it – got up, grabbed his stretcher, and walked out, with everyone
there watching him. They rubbed their eyes, incredulous – and then praised
God saying, Continue reading “Wrapped in Prayer”

Placed in His Hands

Placed in His Hands…

John 10: 27 – 30 is a great comfort to me. To summarize this beautiful scripture–We are His sheep, we hear His voice, He knows us, and we follow Him. Just as lost sheep in need of a shepherd so are we to our Father in heaven, but even greater still He will not leave nor forsake us. Also taught in these scriptures–Jesus gives us eternal life, we shall never perish, no one can snatch us out of His hand. Wow!! What a promise! These few scriputres hold so much meaning and truth. We sometimes forget the “little” scriputures, don’t we? Let’s not miss what God is trying to help us understand (another reference would be over in HEB 13:5–look up these scriptures and allow God to speak to your heart). To HIM be the glory for being so great. When we are truly following Christ, and know we are His sheep, we have no fear. Christ has placed us in His caring handsContinue reading “Placed in His Hands”

My Mom, aka Sister Grandma

Today would have been Sister Grandma’s 100th birthday. I often thank God for a godly mother who took us to church, taught us many good things and “grew us kids up” to the best of her ability. She saw many changes in her long lifetime and as the times changed she adapted to them (mostly) and after being in a denominational church from her birth, she caught the true meaning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and received Him into her life as her Lord and Savior. Then she prayed for me until I came into the full knowledge of the Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sara pondered about Sister Grandma’s birthday….”I wonder what her cake is like in Heaven, today, and who is attending her birthday party?” That set me to thinking that Sis G., as we called her, must be dancing and singing at the greatest RE-Birthday Party of her eternal life. All the saints in HContinue reading “My Mom, aka Sister Grandma”
