RETRO

I love the word RETRO! For one thing I can just drag any old thing out of my closet and it works. And another real important thing I can use my ‘old way of life’ and tell it to others without saying words I just don’t like, “we use to do it this way.”

Now about my Retro…for today. When things didn’t go right, we would write for a teacher or parent 100 times the opposite of what we just did.
This week I was having some real weak moments, Like my desk is a total complete disgraceful upside down mess. My closet looks like a summer breeze blew in and blew out without taking anything with it. My overall house looks like dust is a valuable piece of art. And, my gardens and patios are as decorative as if a hurricane came to visit but of course it didn’t.

I found myself speaking to myself in words not becoming to myself or to anyone in sight incContinue reading “RETRO”

Sherms’ Cleaning Tips

Removal for sticky residue from price tags on glassware or plastic

In a well ventilated area spray just a touch of WD40 on the sticky spot, wait a few seconds and with a cloth rub off and then wash spot with a degreaser, dish detergent (dawn, etc.), or all purpose cleaner. That’s it!!!!

Also good for rust removal on pipes or other metals.

Let me know if you have other questions on cleaning or hard to remove stains and spots and I’ll see what I can come up with.

Thought of another tip: To clean microwave and loosen the harden food. Put a boil of water in and bring to a steam and let the steam work to take it off. Continue reading “Sherms’ Cleaning Tips”

Obesity ‘engulfing the entire world’

The world is in the grip of an obesity pandemic that threatens to overwhelm every country’s health system, experts at an international conference warned on Sunday.

“Obesity is an international scourge,” Professor Paul Zimmet, the chairman of the meeting of more than 2,500 experts and health officials, told delegates in a speech opening the International Congress on Obesity. “This insidious, creeping pandemic of obesity is now engulfing the entire world.”

“It’s as big a threat as global warming and bird flu,” said Zimmet, an Australian diabetes expert.

Other experts at the conference said the cost of treating health problems related to being overweight was immeasurable on a global scale, but was estimated at billions of dollars a year in countries such as Australia, Britain and the United States.

“We are not dealing with a scientific or medical problem, we’re dealing with an eContinue reading “Obesity ‘engulfing the entire world’”
