“becoming the change we want to see”–Ghandi, is a total commitment, for sure. If we allow Holy Spirit into our lives to effect that change, it will be a change that is not only worth the effort but the change that will permanently effect ours and the lives of those around us. It takes COMMITMENT; FOCUS; DILIGENCE! FAITH in the LIVING GOD. Sara has taught on these principles in several of her books. DILIGENCE; DILIGENCE; DILIGENCE!!
Yes, I taught but God said this through St. Peter in 2 Peter 1:5-7. Thanks MG, you did a great job of reminding me to stay diligent in adding faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perserverance , godliness, brotherly kindness and then love.
These are some of the things I mentioned in Jersey-N-Needles’ resolutions for ’06, I will try but didn’t want to promise as I know the difficulty it takes. But I also know the great reward it brings to ourselves and families and others if we obey and do.
Let us continue to pray for one another to stay faithful in growing in His Divine Nature.
I thought again about this quote..about BECOMING the change we want to see….and I thought….it’s not only to see the changes in the circumstances, or the events, or the environment about us….but WE must BE that CHANGE….like the Scripture reads…”And we shall all be changed in the twinkling of an eye”. So, now I KNOW and the Scripture confirms that….I can BE the CHANGE I DESIRE, for ALL things are possible with GOD.
This quote, Sara, reminded me to review Lesson #3 ‘Image: the Beauty of Jesus’ in your book ,”Dressing for His Glory”. This chapter uses the lily to illustrate how to be changed into His image and how to become this change that we want to see when we look into the mirror of reflection. Thanks for this help.
Making changes is not easy. We have to break out of old mind sets. Through study of the Word and fellowshipping with other Christians who have a desire to see us reach our full potential through Jesus Christ, we are able to make the steps that Jesus would have us make to become the UNIQUE person He wants us to become. We are in the process of being changed and can also be instruments and servants of Jesus to effect change in others. Your study “Dressing for His Glory” is one way a group can start effecting change.
I thought long on this quote….remembering the seminars and studies of the Rose of Sharon School of Learning…and also from my Bible readings…so many things came to mind and most of them have already been shared…but this one scripture also came to mind and its found in Matthew 7:12″Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets..” Even after reading this I had even more thoughts , mainly because I did read in 2 Peter about self control and perseverance diligence…etc…and becoming that change we want see to sure calls for it all….dj
This quote and the new year make me think of one of my favorite verses, 2 Corinthians 5:17. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” It reminds me I am a child of God created in His image. He has taken away my past flaws and faults and made me brand new! I am to be as the clay, and He as the potter, allowing me to be shaped and molded just the way He wants me. As children of God, we can give our best effort everyday and let Him work through us. We can look to Christ to give us strength and continue to allow Him to change our hearts and minds more like His.
Welcome Heather and our prayers for your success in ’06.
What a great verse to remind us just who we are and where we are going in ’06.
Your words spurred me to read Ps. 139:15-16 NIV. David expressing his thought to God, “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me are written in your book before one of them came to be.”
We can be all He desires for us to be and has planned for us to be even before ‘Our Creator’ began to weave us in our Mother’s womb. Such a work of beauty He has made each of us.
Heather, when did you realize your mission on earth was to be a pharmacist?
Sara, this “on-line seminar” presents an excellent study concerning the attainment of goals to be reached for the New Year,2006. That Father God has allowed us to be here for this exciting time and to have the spiritual insights, guidance & all the tools available to us for reaching our destinies that we receive from this inter-change, portrays a loving and glorious Heavenly Father and those whom He uses to help His children into their eternal destinations with Him.
Thank you for your work in this realm.
I BELIEVE WE ALL STRUGGLE WITH THINGS WE WANT TO CHANGE IN OUR LIVES. MY FRIEND STRUGGLES EVERYDAY BECAUSE HE IS NOT AND DID NOT BECOME WHO HE WANTED TO BE. I BELIEVE HE IS EXACTLY WHAT GOD WANTED! “WITH HIM ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE”!!!!!!!!!!! I PRAY EVERYDAY THAT HE WILL GET THE STRENGTH HE NEEDS FOR SELF PEACE. I WAS TOLD GOD DOES NOT GIVE YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE. HE STRUGGLES WITH THIS. I AM ASKING THAT ALL OF MY FRIENDS IN THE DAILY LILY LIFT HIM UP IN PRAYER. SO THAT HE WILL BECOME THE CHANGE HE WANTS TO SEE IN HIMSELF AND HAVE THE STRENGTH TO DO SO.
