Gary, I was honored to write a message of encouragement to a godly man as you have described Jon, your co-worker and friend. We will continue to pray for him, holding him in our hearts to the Lord, and believing for his healing and total recovery.
Jon G. if you should read the words in this little square just remember all of our prayers are not held tightly in a square. They zoom the heavens and finds the throne and touches the Heart of The One who cares. Not only cares but does what is right on the behalf of those that care.
We do care, Jon Gianiny, about you and your health. And we do feel a part of your suffering as we share our love, thoughts and prayers with God on your behalf. We believe by Faith God does the Big thing when we do the small things.
Gary and myself as well as our pray chain are praying for you and family. We are here if we can help in some small way. Call or email Gary if we can help. Maybe give you a ride, pick-up items for you, etc.
Jon you and Carol are being lifted up in prayer at Christ Church Inte’l/thedailylilies.com . May the Lord strengthen you and your family through this time. May HE hold you in his hand and bring healing to every part of your body. We are believing God will do this.
Carol, we are standing in faith for Jon and you. We pray that God will give you strength, wisdom and patience in this trial of your lives together. We stand with you and call upon the name of the Lord for your courageous stance against this assailant.
May God continue to bless you with His presence and bring you through to the great victory in Christ Jesus and may your testimonies bring honor and glory to our wonderful Lord and God.
Jon, Carol and family, I join with the prayers of CCI and The Daily Lilies also. May the Lord bathe you in His peace, comfort you with His love, guide you daily with His counsel and strengthen you in every way with His mighty power.
Everyone,
Thank you SO much for your prayers and encouraging words. I know that God can heal cancer; many from our church were healed. It is my fervent prayer that God is choosing to heal Jon for His glory. Maybe God gave him an advanced form so that the healing could only come from Him and not just doctors. Carol
Romans 8:28
Carol, I like the way Message reads from Romans 8:28 “…we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” Joyce Meyers says, “God’s Word is like medicine it has inherent power that heals.”
Jon is blessed to have you walking with him in this season and all seasons of his life. If one wants to find you they only have to look in Proverbs 31…

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support. It really means a lot to me, knowing that people like you care and show the love of Jesus. We are all a part of the body of Christ and it’s like we are all in one family. I’m headed out to a men’s retreat this weekend but will be in touch later. Jon
Jon G. I I am on the prayer chain and was very blessed to actually run into you with my sister at the receptions desk in landsdown hospital center…she is also being lifted up in prayer on the prayer chain……Your joy and positive out look made her think just a little more about how blessed she is even in her situation….your strength indeed cometh from the Lord and He will never leave nor forsake you….dj
Dorothy, we are praying for your sister Ann and believe for her complete healing. How interesting that you met Jon at the Doctor’s office. As Jon said above, ” We are all a part of the body of Christ and it’s like we are all in one family. ”
Jon, it is so wonderful to know that we all have the same Heavenly Father. Let us pray together to Our Father,
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.
Jon, it’s great that you are getting to use your gift of music this week-end at the men’s retreat. I know playing the drums and worshiping God is a great passion you have. Hope you received spiritual nourishment this week-end for your body and soul. I am continually praying for your healing and looking forward to your being back at work real soon.
Jon and Anne,
As I studied this morning from Beth Moore the concentration was on Psalms 121 quoted from Holman’s:
The LORD Our Protector
A song of ascents.
1 I raise my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.
4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep.
5 The LORD protects you; the LORD is a shelter right by your side.
6 The sun will not strike you by day, or the moon by night.
7 The LORD will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life.
8 The LORD will protect your coming and going both now and forever.
What an excellent thought. In life God has his eye on each as we journey in this life with bumps that came unexpected – bumps we would not have chosen – bumps never the less and His eye never leaves His people. God know the terrain that each of you, Jon and Anne, must pass through but God’s eye and presence will never leave either of you. We praise God that His eye is never off of you and that you God will see Jon and Anne through this part of their journey to victory, healing, and wholeness.
Ann, what a wonderful step forward in writing your thoughts here among the LILIES. May God give you even more strength for coming forth and speaking your heart. We love and pray for you, our Dorothy’s kin.
We lift you up upon the Mercy Seat of the most high God and ask that HE release HIS healing power into your life, even as we pray for you every day in our thedailylily.org/CCI prayer chain; strength, wisdom and healing for you in Christ Jesus.
Dear Ann your comment made me think of a poem that is often quoted:
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
Mary Stevenson, 1936
How often he has carried us. What a wonderful thought that sustains us. Ann as you are unable to lift yourself in prayer know that you and Jon have been laid on others hearts to pray and lift you up. Sometimes it is at our weakest moment that God has given others extra strength to pray steadfastly. The strength and urgency will not leave until the Lord places you and Jon on your feet again. Amen!
Dear Ann, even if you can’t find the words it is comforting to know that God knows your heart and feels what you feel. “Even before there is a [single] word on my tongue, you know all about it, LORD. You are all around me-in front of me and in back of me. You lay your hand on me”. Psalm 139:4,5.
And like Rena wrote above, sometimes that comforting Hand carries us.
We are carrying you and Jon in our hearts and in our prayers, standing and believing for your healing.
“I have been a Breast Cancer Survivor for 14 years, and consider myself very blessed. At first you ask yourself why me, and give yourself about three days to be very angry at the world. Then reality sets in and you have several conversations with God, in fact you and God have a lot of conversations, because this is probably the toughest thing you have ever had to face. I did not join a support group because that just wasn’t me, I knew what I had to do and talking about it to a group would not have cheered me up. I was lucky in that I have a sister who really prays a lot, in fact she prays more than anyone I know. When you are going through chemo and radiation it’s hard to pray because you don’t really feel well and basically you don’t think about praying at the time, but it does help. Having a very serious illness is definitely a wake up call and really makes you appreciate your life and all those around you that you care so much about.”
this is a note from my sister ann as I could only read to her the comments on the phone that were written here….She said she truly is thankful for all that are praying for her and that have made so many comments and that have given her thses words of encouragement…she will make a reply as soon as I Dorothy come to visit her and help get back on the computor…..and a special thank you to Jean
Dear Jean thank you for also touching others one by one as they go through cancer. Many have been blessed as you have given cards and gifts of encouragement to others who walk this same road that you walked. May God continue to bless you in healing and wholeness.
I greatly admire these brave men and women who have overcome the throes of cancer and are now giving encouragement and exhortation to others who are facing the challenge of ca. Thank you for your support and willingness to share your stories, the pain, the uncertainty that arises with these diagnoses.
May the Healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ minister to you and give you peace and comfort. The Bible says that “by His stripes we (already were healed)…a fait accompli….already accomplished. May you receive that healing and take it to yourselves, Jon, Ann and all those who read and participate on thedailylily.org. That is what we believe.
