There are times when scripture feels like it was recorded for such a time as this. This Psalm gives us a neatly wrapped gift to prayers and blessings for every nation. And, today with Coronavirus disease beaming it’s headlights in nation after nation, human after human we need a one for all.
1) Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. 2) Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
3) Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. 4) For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 5) For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 6) Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. 7) Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 8) Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.9) Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth. 10) Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.” The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.11) Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. 12) Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. 13) Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.
Imagine this, must be important:
“Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place. Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth.” 1 Chronicles 16:23-31, 33 NIV

“There are times when scripture feels like it was recorded for such a time as this.”
…It surely does, Sara.
How to sing this new song? I looked up new: “not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time.”
And there sure are many action verbs packed in this Psalm for us to do: sing, declare, ascribe, say, worship, praise, proclaim, tremble, etc.
“Imagine this, must be important.”… yes, it sure seems so, and the fact that He said, “for he comes to judge the earth.”

God bless the Godly grandmothers that take the time to teach their grandchildren about Jesus. The man in the video learned from his grandmother and is passing it on. Thanks for sharing the video.
Tammy, you too, have life long stories you learned from your wise grandmother and now the op to pass them on. And, Oh how we need the wisdom that faileth not in this dark hour for the entire world. To have this special gift of love that only comes from Others that knew Jesus as their Savior like our video storyteller and you sharing truth given to you we would be as whole nations without Hope.
But, Hope, Love and Peace we have because of those that share. Our storyteller painted a beautiful picture of grandmother(s) weaving as a trade handed down from generation to generation. Alaska, my thoughts, cold, short days and little to none of today’s thrills of communication via internet as we know it. Yet, grandmothers, the weavers, made the spotlights in today’s news giving answers to our darkness that feels so cold and helpless until the storyteller, Ray Buckley, build the fortress of safety by how even pandemics cannot move God’s strong arm of strength. Her humble prayers woven in tears of gold threads as all her children burned with high fevers gave way to their healing and caught the Son of Righteousness and His story woven in John 3:16, “…God so loved the world He gave..”
Tammy, I remember your grandmother as she lay in a hospital bed with little earth life left yet wanting to share one of her greatest joys of accomplishments with me. God had allowed her the purity of gold silk threads to see children standing together from every nation as she prayed for them. He, the Son Catcher found a weaver in Alice to reflect His love for the whole world He came to save.
My prayer today we find the glorious Light and let our lives reflect His great healing power as healing for the Nations.(Rev 22:2)
Yes, Sara, I did have a grandmother that shared her love for Jesus. I praise God that she never failed to speak about her Heavenly Father, and to point those around her to Him. I join in prayer with you that “we find the glorious Light and let our lives reflect His great healing power as healing for the Nations.(Rev 22:2) “
Thank you for sharing that video, Sara. I think it really gave a beautiful example of what you wrote above, “This Psalm gives us a neatly wrapped gift to prayers and blessings for every nation.”
It also seemed like the grandmother’s ‘dreamcatcher’ was a 3-D prayer mandala.
