St Patrick was quite successful at winning converts to Christianity in Ireland, as we have come to believe.

The St. Patrick’s Day custom came to America in 1737. That was the first year St. Patrick’s Day was publicly celebrated in this country, in Boston.

Today, people celebrate the day with parades, wearing of the green, and drinking beer. One reason St. Patrick’s Day might have become so popular is that it takes place just a few days before the first day of spring. One might say it has become the first green of spring.

Could this be the beginning of spring with ‘snow covered ground’ in many of the places we live! WOW, let us celebrate the beginning of spring with the green. Maybe a little green tea will do for some of us!

Faith and Obedience when Facing Death

Daniel chapter 3 clearly shows faith and obedience to our Lord. King Nebuchadnezzar was a very powerful king of Babylon. He was so powerful he built a golden statue ninety feet tall and ninety feet wide and commanded everyone to bow down to this enormous statue when they heard the musical instruments. King Nebuchadnezzar commanded his people to serve his gods. If anyone refused to obey his commands they would be thrown in the blazing furnace. Everyone obeyed King Nebuchadnezzar. With fearful hearts his people bowed downed before the statue and worshiped a false god. Three Jewish men refused to bow down to the statue. When King Nebuchadnezzar heard of this disobedience he was furious. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were bought before the King. King Nebuchadnezzar gave them one last chance to bow down.

HELPING HANDS, HOPING HEARTS AND HOLY HEALINGS

Discovering our gift(s) and using them effectively in the Body of Christ illustrates the beauty of the hands of Jesus, ‘Helping Hands.’ This brings evangelism to the world and builds The Church. Our helping hands express Hope and Faith in God.
When one carries hope in their heart, ‘Hoping Heart’ they fulfill a portion of I Corinthians 13:13 “And now abide, faith, hope, charity (love), these three but the greatest of these is love”. Hope is as important to the heart as heart is to life. Always have a ‘Hoping Heart.’

A SEA OF IDENTITY

ID, show your ID. Do you have your ID? Many of us are asked this each time we go to work. When we go to the bank, write a check or conduct just about any kind of business. Basically, our ID identifies our name, and sometimes shows our picture and other pertinent information related to identifying us.

How many times have you heard yourself, spouse, children or co-workers say “I am afraid I am losing my identity.” We are usually meaning individuality, personality, character, uniqueness, or ourselves in some way, we think and feel certain, that we know about ourselves. We even marry at times to make a sea of identity for ourselves. Our children whether it be good or bad will at times strike accord with others to believe and declare they have identified us, their parents. And, yes, even our Nation can at times identify us.

TOSS ME ASIDE AND I WILL TOSS YOU ASIDE

Passage Matthew 10:33: Message “Stand up for me against world opinion and I’ll stand up for you before my Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I’ll cover for you?”

Vs. 5-10 NIV of the same chapter.NIV “…These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or a staff; for the worker is worth his keep. Whatever town or village you enter, search for some worthy person there and stay at his house until you leave. As you enter the home, give it your greeting. If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorra on the day of judgment than for that town. I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.”

Do you support illegal immigration?

You may be supporting illegal immigration every time you use your check card, your credit card, pay your mortgage and everything else you do if you have any of these services with BANK OF AMERICA. Recently reported in the Wall Street Journal and other media outlets, Bank of America has quietly been offering credit cards to illegal immigrants. If you have had an account with Bank of America for at least 3 months and you haven’t had an overdraft you can get a credit card. The thing about this is, and I have no idea how it is legal, the people getting the bank accounts and credit cards don’t have SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS. What is going on?????? My first question is how are undocumented people getting bank accounts? The last time I opened an account I had to provide every piece of evidence I had to prove my identity and people are just being handed bank accounts and credit cards??? How is this happening.
