Can you think?

I came across this test the other day. I understand it is designed to test your thinking and reasoning ability. I thought you all might like to give it a try.
1. How do you put a giraffe in the refrigerator?
2. How do you put an elephant in the refrigerator?
3. Since the lion is the king of the animals and they follow his command, which animal didn’t show up at the party that he ordered them all to attend?
4. You are traveling in Africa and you come to a river filled with crocodiles, you have no boat and the bridge is out. How will you cross without being eaten by the crocs?

I was told that this test was given to executives at Fortune 500 companies and to preschool children. And that some executives didn’t get any right answers and some preschoolers got most to the answers.
After you post your responses, I will put up the correct answers and you can see if you are executive or prContinue reading “Can you think?”

Be Still and Know!

Sitting here thinking about the retreat (The Dance of Healing, ’06 NC) the one thing that really speaks to my heart is to be still and wait on the Lord. In today society everyone is just so busy. We even have to have portable phones so we can work while we stay in contact with our family and friends. Most of the time we don’t even realize how much stress we’re carrying on our shoulders. We don’t realize that we need to stop, get in a quite place and wait on the Lord. We need to stop talking and start listening. God created man to have a relationship. It’s hard to have a relationship with someone who never listens and always talks. Many times people don’t call on the Lord unless there are troubles in their lives. God wants us to have a relationship with him through the good times and the bad. He wants to have a two way conversation with his children. He wants us to call on him and he wantContinue reading “Be Still and Know!”

Horticultural Therapy

I recently came away from a retreat Sara taught with some thoughts about healing and how it relates to вЂ?The Kingdom of God is Like a Farmer’ that I would like to share.

My profession is agriculture (Agriculture as defined by Merriam-Webster: the science, art, or practice of cultivating the soil, producing crops, and raising livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products: farming)or more specifically, horticulture (Horticulture: the science and art of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, or ornamental plants).

I have been thinking about how many вЂ?farming’ words are found in the scriptures and realized I can’t pick up my Bible without reading such agricultural words as wheat, herbs, trees, plow, vineyard, harvest, seed, fruit, fish…and on and on. These words must be important to God as He communicates with us by usinContinue reading “Horticultural Therapy”

Mine Eyes Have Seen—-

My eyes have been opened to many things this past week in Retreat (The Dance of Healing, NC) and one of the most astounding things that came as a thunderbolt of revelation from the teachings, is that the spirits that try to oppress God’s people and the sins that so easily beset us and specifically “me” (although we’ve tried time after time to overcome them), are really “addictions”. We become addicted to a way of reacting to a situation or how we are affected by a certain circumstance and we are deceived into thinking that that is the “way we are”! Self-deception is very dangerous. I received the understanding that oppressive spirits of rejection, fear & pride are really ADDICTIONS of the soul and ONLY through study of God’s Word, prayer and Holy Spirit, we CAN KICK THE HABIT, if we truly desire that!

My ears have been opened to manyContinue reading “Mine Eyes Have Seen—-“

In step

During a recent retreat, “Dance of Healing” I was reminded how important it is to keep in step with the Holy Spirit.

Connecting with my occupation as a teacher, I realize that there are joyous consequences to keeping in step with assignments and dire consequences to not keeping in step. For instance, sometimes I have students who come to me explaining the reasons why they didn’t turn in an assignment on time. They had been given every detail of the assignment and the due date. Yet when the due date came, they had nothing to turn in. As a result they received a failing mark. Those who turned in their assignment with attention to every detail and on time received a grade of excellent.

As far as being a Christian, I find we are back in school facing similar situations. The teacher, The Holy Spirit, speaks to us giving us the details and the due date. Sometimes we Continue reading “In step”

Dormancy-“The Dance of Healing”

Dormancy from “The Dance of Healing.” by Sara

A note from my Journal “Farming ‘Spiritual’ Retreat ’06:

In reviewing my notes I realized I had been suffering from emotional trauma. I feel I am healed in these areas after our retreat and the love I received.

In the process of cultivating inner beauty I understand we are told, your outside must line up with your inside,,,but I found if your inside has more of you than Christ, that’s what shows up and its’ awful not awesome’. You may think its not a good thing, but I’ve found it is especially if your working to change things, you need to know and see what kind of weed needs to be removed or what kind of seed needs to be planted…and there is shock ,there is trauma when you get a real look at you in you instead of Christ in You…I know this for myself….I looked up shock it means=a violent shock or jar….and trauma means= an injuContinue reading “Dormancy-“The Dance of Healing””

Burdened?

I think it would be selfish on my part, not to share with the
world…after such a marvelous retreat! I thank God for all that He has
done..and going to do!

Burdened?

It doesn’t take a “rocket scientist” to figure out that with today’s hectic
lifestyles, it’s easy to allow satan to bombard us with heavy burdens. If we
took the time to slow down, and…”Be still and know that I am God.”(Ps.
46:10),and remember..(Matt. 11:28-30) “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of
you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my
yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the
burden I give you is light.” How AWESOME is this? He wants to make our
burdens light, if we will come to Him.Continue reading “Burdened?”
