Thoughts of David and Goliath
This week the Holy Spirit kept bringing the story of David and Goliath to my mind and urging me to go a little deeper into the story. With the help of Sara I was able to finish this piece.
When I focused upon the story I thought isn’t this story like life. We come up against situations that everyone tells us are impossible and that we don’t have a chance against them. We hear the words to the effect, the problem is too colossal. The situation is too nerve racking, shaking us to our bone marrow as we look upon the giant. Is it fear, a relationship, an illness etc.? Outsiders see the giant that is our enemy and just like the Israelites they are overcome by the pure size of the giant.

Alice Adventures in Wonderland-Chapter XI
The scene opens with the king and queen of hearts sitting on their thrones in the court where the trial is to take place to find out who stole the tarts. The knave is in chains, accused of the crime, and there is a large plate of tarts on a table in the middle of the court. The rabbit has a scroll in one hand and a trumpet in the other.

My Mother’s Crowns
The New Jerusalem has been
Prepared as the mother of us all
That great city, the Holy Jerusalem
will be filled with sons and daughters
From the nations
My Mother
You never knew my mother, did you?
Ah, you missed a good one there.
A member of an angel band
Came quietly and took her hand,
And led her off somewhere.
Mama’s New Dress
“I really don’t like that dress at the store:
This old one I wear suits me fine.”
But why is that longing look in her eyes?
And why do her eyes seem to shine?
She says to herself, “I’ll buy some new shoes:
That boy of ours needs a pair.”
Something that should have been long thrown away,
His mama continues to wear.
Noah’s Story (age 10)
One day this boy named Noah was fishing. He had a huge blue marlin on. He was thinking about the future. “With this fish I would get a trophy. I would sell the trophy and buy a better fishing rod. With this fishing rod I would be able to catch bigger fish.” While he was daydreaming his huge blue marlin got away. All of his plans swam away. THE END
