The Battle of the Bulge

Some years ago I wrote this song and I have been going around singing it recently. It has a marching beat to give you an up and go attitude.

A friend of mine once told me to Jan-Feb. Her idea of this was jam all your indoor work into January and February so when the first signs of spring show up in March outdoors one could go. I think it a pretty neat idea but I am not much on this indoor drudgery work for two long months of cold weather with snow and ice. I have been singing and trying to stay in the now and appreciate the beauty of the snow. Well, that is the way it is in my area. How is the weather in your area?

Black History Month

In 1926,, Black History Week was originated by Carter G. Woodson to be celebrated in the month of February, when we especially honor the many excellent contributions that Black Americans have made to the nation in Traditional Culture, Religion, Entertainment, Government, Sports, the Arts, the Military, and many other arenas. Black History Week eventually became Black History Month.

Prayers for the Homeless

I have often thought of the homeless and maybe to some degree said prayers and at times even given a blanket or a little food. But, recently I have read and seen so many new homeless situations in our nation that I was once again awaken to a need. Living in the Nation’s Capital or other large cities at times we become desensitized to many situations without even knowing it. Many times it is just feeling completely helpless.

While reading and seeing many news reports of the ‘homeless’ I began to understand the great increase in homelessness in our little towns and villages across our great nation.
