GOD STILL SPEAKS

This article was circulated in our men’s Bible study and I thought it was worth reflecting on:

A young man had been to Wednesday night Bible Study. The Pastor had talked about listening to God and obeying the Lord’s voice. The young man couldn’t help but wonder, “Does God still speak to people?”

After the service he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several of the group talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o’clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he began to pray, “God… If you still
speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.”

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought: Stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, “God is that you?” He didn’t get a reply and started on toward home. But againContinue reading “GOD STILL SPEAKS”

Lighted Honeybees For The King

One day a small honeybee was sitting on a tiny flower. He was sucking in the sweet nectar of the flower. This day he was in the King’s garden. All the honeybees bragged that the King’s garden had the sweetest nectar and the prettiest flowers that they had ever seen. Thus, the nectar made from His flowers made the sweetest honey.

The honeybee would often sit and watch the King each day as He tenderly cared for each flower. He seemed to know just what to do to get rid of injurious things to the plant. He would once in a while pinch the biggest ones back. Surprisingly they grew back bigger and better with each plucking. The King tenderly caressed each flower and breathed in its sweet fragrance. Sometimes He was seen spending more time over one than another. He looked like He was praying for the flower. The flower always seemed to stand a little taller after such a touch from the King.

This is Our New Life

I had to write a poem about the I Have a Dream speech for a contest and this is what I wrote.
It is called This is Our New Life.
My brothers and sisters black and white
They did not give up without a fight
So everyone I see
Would soon be free
Look around for the blank pages to be found
With the discoveries it will see
You never know what is next for you and me
No one knew here today
Everyone would be free with every say
No one is picking cotton their whole life
Or doing another persons dos their whole life
Kids can have friends
Black and white again
My brother or sister black or white
Are not at any fight
Just holding hands
With all my friends
That was the dream
That is our NEW life
I hope you liked it!
With Faith,
GraceContinue reading “This is Our New Life”

Things I think I Know

I know some things, but not many things do I know, compared to the many things yet to be known.

I understand quite a few things, but not all things, for I do know, understanding is not about me or original to me.

I have answers to both some great and small questions; but it’s not the only answers to my questions or the final answers to be known.

I love much but not enough to get the work of love done all alone. I know loving the world will help my knowing.

I hope you don’t feel bad for me or think I feel sad for myself. I feel like I am in a great ‘state of hope’.

President Bush indicated it takes a thumpin to know some things. My heart is thumpin to know many things.

Things I thought I really knew, are changing day by day. So what do I really know at the end of each day? I know I can’t control change of too many things, and those I do are minute in range.

Merry Christmas Target

Here we are very early in the Holiday season. Chris and Tammy just called to tell me as they were leisurely strolling through Target they were greeted with Merry Christmas big and bold on Holiday signs. Cards, decorations, and gifts to purchase that say to us Christmas is about Christ the Lord and His Birth.

I appreciate you Target and employees that take the time to provide a greeting of “Merry Christmas” as I go about my shopping and enjoying the joy. I do love your stores and it’s one of my favorite stops almost daily.

I pray that we as customers will remember to greet Target employees with Merry Christmas and pause to say, Thank you.

Great quotes

____Henry Brooks Adams
…Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.
_____Japanese Proverb
…One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.
