As the glory of a pastel summer fades into the brilliance of Autumnal colors, spicy scents, bright flora and fauna, the clang of school bells ( or should I say electronic beeps) beckons our ‘hope for tomorrow’, our youth, back to the classroom, the smart board and the computer labs of American Schools all across our land. And, of course, the teachers must go, too!
Joy in our Work
Proverbs 13:4 “Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper.”
Proverbs 12:11 “A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”
Ecclesiastes 5:12 “People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep.”
Luke 10:7 ” Don’t move around from home to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what they provide. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality, because those who work deserve their pay.”
1 Corinthians 15:58 ” So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work with enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
1 Peter 1:10 “So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.”
2 Timothy 2:15 “Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.”

A Stimulus package
It seems for the last few weeks my heart and mind has been routinely visiting the thought of evangelism. How can I be more effective in today’s times by using the gifts and talents that God has given me. I have had a very rewarding summer with family and friends. I have been blessed to attend a spiritual retreat hosted and taught by this spiritual website that I am a daily part of. Also, attending Wednesday Bible Studies at my local church with my family. As well as a summer camp meeting with morning and night services for almost a week. We even had the opportunity at both the retreat and camp to enjoy sharing meals in fellowship time. How blessed I have been. But, the question still lingers in my mind, ‘how can I improve my skill of blessing others with spiritual food?
Earl and Jesus
During the preparation for Hurricane Earl, it’s easy to get caught up in the weather channels. Watching the predictions of a Category 4 hurricane on TV may bring worry and fear to our hearts. We do need to prepare for the storm but we must be very careful not to focus on the storm. Not only do we need extra water, flash lights, batteries, gasoline and food; we also need extra prayer. Prayer is a wonderful line of defense against dangers of any type. We also need to throw some faith in there too. Faith that God is in control, that He hears our prayers and that our prayers will be answered. Many are very nervous about these huge Hurricanes coming our way. Lets change our fears, nervousness and worry to praise and prayers. This will change our whole outlook on these storms and others that may approach us in life. God loves us and He will take care of us….. Psalms 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation-so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?”

Amazing thoughts
“For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. 17God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:16-17

Break the Bondage
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.” Ephesians 6:10-13

In Honor of Mrs. Seibert
With Spring behind us and summer about to hang itself up for another seasonal year, we are now facing Autumn. A time when we remember the smell and purchase of new school supplies. For each student the expectation is a little nerve racking.I remember one such year – a year to remember – a year to give thanks for – a year to give praise to God for such a caring teacher, Mrs. Seibert.s
