“Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Accept my teachings and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit, and you will find rest for your lives. The burden that I ask you to accept is easy; the load I give you to carry is light.” Matthew 11:28-31 (New Century Version)

DAILY HEALTH QUOTE
“I only really understand myself, what I’m really thinking and feeling, when I’ve talked it over with my circle of female friends …..
When days go by without that connection, I feel like a radio playing in an empty room” ____Anna Quindlin
hustle and bustle
It has been so easy for me to get caught up, in the hustle and bustle, of the Christmas shopping and preparing for Christmas. I have just read in Isaiah 29. Read with me the following verses and the footnotes, for these verses. (13-14) “And so the Lord says, ‘These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.’ Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites with amazing wonders. The wisdom of the wise will pass away, and the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear.”

To Love is Christ
This morning I was reading from David Teems, one of my very favorite author’s devotional for the day, TO LOVE IS CHRIST. We Lilies had been comtemplating the wonder and incalculable goodness and wisdom of God and what He has done in just the past day or two, for us, not even to mention all through the years. His faithfulness to us is mind boggling considering the straits we get ourselves into at times. Yet His rescue is certain when we call upon Him and trust in Him.

What are you expecting to happen during the upcoming holidays? Or, even today?
Do you live in the big world of Expectations?
I have found that expectations have the innate ability to blindside hope in my life, relationships, and enjoyment.

Veterans Day
Today is Veterans Day where we honor all uniformed service personnel serving in all capacities; those who are now serving and those who have passed on. My students will be presenting a patriotic performance of songs and instrumentals and an honoring service for their families, friends and neighbors who have served in the military.
We have rehearsed and practiced our speeches and our songs and we, the teachers, have spoken to our students about what a great opportunity it is for them to be able to honor these brave men and women. My prayer is that this experience will forever instill in their young hearts an attitude of gratitude for the people who serve our nation in uniform, putting themselves in harm’s way for a cause greater than each indiviual but for the greater good, namely the freedom that we and our students enjoy, now.
