During the preparation for Hurricane Earl, it’s easy to get caught up in the weather channels. Watching the predictions of a Category 4 hurricane on TV may bring worry and fear to our hearts. We do need to prepare for the storm but we must be very careful not to focus on the storm. Not only do we need extra water, flash lights, batteries, gasoline and food; we also need extra prayer. Prayer is a wonderful line of defense against dangers of any type. We also need to throw some faith in there too. Faith that God is in control, that He hears our prayers and that our prayers will be answered. Many are very nervous about these huge Hurricanes coming our way. Lets change our fears, nervousness and worry to praise and prayers. This will change our whole outlook on these storms and others that may approach us in life. God loves us and He will take care of us….. Psalms 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation-so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?”
My thoughts
“The Word of God is a ROCK on which all the ships of man’s philosophy crash and sink. Gary

Break the Bondage
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.” Ephesians 6:10-13

In Honor of Mrs. Seibert
With Spring behind us and summer about to hang itself up for another seasonal year, we are now facing Autumn. A time when we remember the smell and purchase of new school supplies. For each student the expectation is a little nerve racking.I remember one such year – a year to remember – a year to give thanks for – a year to give praise to God for such a caring teacher, Mrs. Seibert.s
Fashion Show-Barbara
I love fashion and dressing up! Dressing up is what we called fashion when Barbara and I were teens. My teen friend, Barbara, and I had a little fashion show and entertained our dailylily.com friends. What a blast! No Starbuck coffee or Barbara ice tea. Just cold water and that was the drink to beat the heat! She even knows how to make that taste just right. You go girl!
We sure missed Needles (Tammy) and Chickenfarmer (Wendy) but, they were riding roller coasters at Busch Gardens with their boys. I invite you now just click and enjoy the show with my friend, Barbara.
Our thoughts
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5, NIV)
My Book Report on:
Mary K Baxter was taken by the Lord Jesus Christ to visit Hell and later, Heaven. This is a paraphrased account of what she saw as she and Jesus stood at the precipice of the pit of hell.
A thoughtful prayer
” Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)
