I think it would be selfish on my part, not to share with the
world…after such a marvelous retreat! I thank God for all that He has
done..and going to do!

It doesn’t take a “rocket scientist” to figure out that with today’s hectic
lifestyles, it’s easy to allow satan to bombard us with heavy burdens. If we
took the time to slow down, and…”Be still and know that I am God.”(Ps.
46:10),and remember..(Matt. 11:28-30) “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of
you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my
yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the
burden I give you is light.” How AWESOME is this? He wants to make our
burdens light, if we will come to Him. Continue reading “Burdened?”

My Time with Roxy

After my morning devotions, a visit to ‘The Daily Lily’, and other preparations getting myself ready for the day, I go to the bottom of the stairs and listen and I know that there is someone at the bottom of the stairs doing the same thing…listening.

Then we both stick our heads around the corner and I see two large brown Puppy eyes staring
at me. It’s Roxy, aka The Daily Lily’s pug. I suppose she sees “breakfast, outside, tummy rub and
old sock tug of war”…well maybe she sees me too.

She likes the same thigs I do, can you imagine that? Sewing, crocheting,
painting and cooking, too. She follows me foot to foot, and if not, just with
her big brown puppy eyes she follows me. She is always there with her comforting puppy self. She seems to know the heaviness of my heart especially this week as my Mom is in the hospital with kidney failure, my Continue reading “My Time with Roxy”

A Song of Blessing

This song has been such a blessing to me that I would like to share with all of you. Let’s all just sing together now.

“God is in Control”
Twila Paris

This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith and determination
Don’t lose the vision here
Carried away by emotion
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the world together

God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control, oh God is in control

History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan
Oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

He has never let you down
Why st Continue reading “A Song of Blessing”

The joy of an artist

Painting Pugs and Poodles, Shelties and Shih Tzus, Collies, Mixed-breed and
Cockers and Poms;

Oh the joy of watching pure white canvases burst forth in phases of shape,
color and poise. Capturing framable companions of love for memories
to last a lifetime.

Light out of darkness, in many ways to others joy, to Him praise.
I take out my trusty water worn brush, a flash of color or a
tinted hush. Browns and tans, blues with hues, a twinkling eye,
one pup or two.

My gift of painting is an outpouring of the love that was poured
into me through hard work and true friendship by many.

“Life is to be fortified by many friendships, to love and be loved is the greatest happiness of existence.” Sydney Smith…..(On an earlier blog by Sara she asked is this true?) My answer was yes and what I am writing is why I said yes. By painting do Continue reading “The joy of an artist”

Coffee Lovers

Found this today on Internet and thought it just might just give Jersey-N-Needles and Chickenfarmer a little competition. Also might give a little comfort to our coffee lovers. What do you think?

You Know That You’re Addicted to Coffee When…
You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
You sleep with your eyes open.
You have to watch videos in fast-foward.
The only time you’re standing still is during an earthquake.
You can take a picture of yourself from ten feet away without the timer.
You’ve worn out your third pair of tennis shoes this week.
Your eyes stay open when you sneeze.
You chew on other people’s fingernails.
The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
You can type sixty words a minute with your feet.
You can jump-start your car without cables.
You don’t sweat, you percolate.
You walk twenty miles on your treadmill before you realize it’s not p Continue reading “Coffee Lovers”
