I watched (and listened to) an interesting video, on-line, a few days ago on the subject of Hearing and LISTENING. As I listened and took a few notes, I began to think and apply it to what the Word of God says about Hearing and Listening in the Spirit. Julian Treasure, the speaker from Oxford England is a popular lecturer and an expert in the field of hearing, listening and sound. His opening comment, ‘Sounds we hear have an important effect on our lives and health”, I took the liberty to translate for my own benefit and added….’and especially our Spiritual lives.’ The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing (spoken) the Word of God .”

The Ten Commandments

On the ten commandments

These are the ten words of God.

They are two aspects here, the first is man’s duty to God , the second is man’s duty to man.

The commandments were given to Israel to identify them as the people of God.

In order to get the full impact of them you need to start with Exodus 20:1 “And God spoke all these words, saying:” and include verse 2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”

My son, Luke

Psalms 1 “1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the
wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of the
mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law
he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by the streams
of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not
wither. Whatever he does prospers. 4 Not so the wicked! They are like
chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand
in the judgment, nor the sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the
