There was a rainbow over Leesburg, VA on Nov 15th, 2008. I was returning from taking photos in Washington DC. With my camera ready, I pulled over on the side of the road, almost got hit by 2 cars, but captured Roy G. Biv with a perfect sky.

Woolly Bear Winter Prediction
We can now accurately predict the harshness for Northern Virginia’s upcoming winter. Based on the purely scientific method of Woolly Bear analysis, we have a prediction for winter 2009. The ratio of black to brown bands on the Woolly Bear can foretell the harshness of the upcoming winter. More black the harsher the winter; more brown predicts a gentler winter.
How does the Woolly Bear accomplish this task? When the caterpillars grow during a wetter fall, the black bands will be larger then the brown one. A wetter fall sets a trend toward a wetter and milder winter.
I found this Woolly Bear in Sky Meadow’s State Park. The smaller black bands on his body predict we will have a mild winter. Don’t worry about buying a new snow shovel this year; the Woolly Bear has spoken.

Are we seeing?
“I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied. “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” (John 9:25).
Jesus healed a blind man and the religious crowd got all upset. They started arguing over why he was healed, and how he was healed, and who was to blame for him being blind in the first place. The man said, “I can’t answer all of your questions. but I can tell you this; I was blind, but now I see.”
When I speak with the ‘religious crowd’ today about this past Presidential Election I feel just this way. “I can’t answer all your questions, but I can tell you this, I was blind, but now I can see.” I wrote a song some time ago that has a lot of meaning to me, “WaitingRoom” and the chorus says, “as I wait, I see His Face shining as a Glory of Grace.” Another part “I can see, I can see, in the world as I go for His Light has broken forth in my soul!” Can you see and hear today what the Spirit is saying?
“we shall see what we shall see”
When I was a child I remember Sister Grandma would reply when we asked her for something that maybe wasn’t on the family budget or pertaining to a request to go to a friend’s house or attend an event, etc.….her answer often would be, “we shall see what we shall see”. To us kids it meant, she would look into it later and decide whether it was a worthy request. The answer was deferred until she had more light on the subject.
Later on in life I heard people use that expression to mean that they would not judge or know the outcome of something until they SAW its manifestation down the road, somewhere. And what they SAW would be the answer. It’s a little like FAITH in REVERSE. Faith says you believe before you see it, and then you will get to see it. This says that you won’t believe it until you see it and that will be the solution….what you see. That’s a little scary because Paul tells us we see in a mirror darkly. So if we judge only by appearances are we judging rightly?

Some points we might want to remember with the coming election.

– The heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord, He bends it however he wills.
– Pray for those in authority over you.
May be we need to remember that the president or leader of any country is a man or a woman, a human being. They are given position by God and are under his authority. And we may need to remember that a nation receives the leader they deserve.

Life in a Frame
What does your life look like on canvas? What type of frame does others place around your life?
The Daily Lily, which is you and me on canvas, gather here with our trumpets and make a loud noise by “Trumpeting Faith, Giving Hope, and Serving Others with Love!” We are needed on the worldwide web and in every little corner of the world we visit daily to “Trumpet our Faith, Give Hope to the weary while Serving Others with Love.” Ones that may feel loveless, lonely, and discouraged. And, rightly so! When we read or hear worldwide news, face financial crisis, job layoffs and recession alarms that are ringing around the world it feels hopeless. I just heard today that Chrysler says ” it will cut 25 percent of its salaried work force starting next month. The company says the cuts are in addition to those previously announced and will be done through involuntary layoffs and voluntary retirements and buyouts.” Just another piece to the larger puzzle of trouble for the “average Joe.”
Wedding of Laura and Pat
My family and I attended the wedding of Pat and Laura on Saturday, October 18, ’08. Patrick is my Mother, Ada Patrick’s, grandson just as she is grandmother of my two sons and other sons and daughters. When Patrick walked out and stood on the platform I was standing on the balcony just above him and facing him and the ocean. I could see the ocean through windows and doors. I looked out the screen door to the ocean and I saw my Mother with a cloud of heavenly witnesses that I knew were related to Patrick and Laura joining us from the balcony of heaven. I had an epiphany moment! I was overwhelmed with joy. As the bride, Laura, approached the altar I felt the saints move closer. Then the minister opened with the scripture from Hebrews 12:1 “…we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses.”
Look and listen to a portion of this ceremony video captured by my daughter-in-law, Tammy, of the minister confirming to this lovely couple the blessings of knowing those that have gone before us were looking upon them with grace, mercy and love to support them in this union. I had whispered to my son, Jonathan, just before the minister spoke that I saw their Grandmother with the cloud of witnesses joining us. What a blessing to all!
