A dream by a 9 year old

James is 9 years old. He read his first book to his Father when he was 3 years old. He could read at an 18 year level when he was 5. He knows a lot about space and insects. James just had a very interesting dream.
His father would like to know what interpretation we get from it:
“I saw a cross made from top to bottom of gold, silver, bronze, iron, and clay. As dawn came, the sun came up and melted the clay. Then, the sun turned into a huge boulder. The boulder rolled into the cross and tore it into pieces, as the iron cracked into pieces. The pieces scattered everywhere. The boulder and the pieces hit the ground. Out of the rock sprouted 7 ears of grain, full and golden, forming a single stalk.

Img 0311-2
We held our Third Annual Retreat of The Daily Lily.com in the beautiful surroundings of eastern NC in the Edenton area with a field trip to Charlotte, NC for a visit of the Billy Graham Library. We studied “The Four Bees” finding our spirituals gifts written and taught by Sara. It was fantastic, inspirational and lots of fun.

Write your story of Hope giving others an update on our retreats!

Book Notes

As part of my summer reading, I have been enjoying a book by author Hal Urban entitled,
POSITIVE WORDS, POWERFUL RESULTS. The Christian principles cited in this book are familiar to many of us concerning how words can bless and encourage or hurt and tear down those to whom they are spoken or even those within hearing range of what we are saying.

The Beauty of Light

“Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven” (Matthew 5:16).

“they will see your good works…” People aren’t impressed by our knowledge or what we say, people are drawn to God by our good works.”

I have a second home that I use for a ‘summer retreat house’ for those that want to come and spend time with God in prayer, study and meditation. It sits in the middle of a field with a few other homes around. It is not ostentatious, big and showy, or large and elegant. It really is not the kind of home that I ever dreamed of or even wanted. By some standards and even my own it would not even be considered a home. But, it is! It is a house to meet with God. Therefore, I feel a very strong responsibility to keep it as clean inside and out as I possibly can with the help or I should say the “good works” of others. Our good works will bring honor and glory to God; and when we honor Him, He always honors us. He will continue to pour out His abundant blessings in every area of our lives and those we serve and love.
