Update on Uganda
This past weekend I met in Dallas, Texas with the team that is going to Uganda this summer. This was our first indepth planning session. And, my first time to meet most of the team. We sketched out the agenda for our stay. We will be working with the staff of an orphanage and the students for five days.
Do you support illegal immigration?
You may be supporting illegal immigration every time you use your check card, your credit card, pay your mortgage and everything else you do if you have any of these services with BANK OF AMERICA. Recently reported in the Wall Street Journal and other media outlets, Bank of America has quietly been offering credit cards to illegal immigrants. If you have had an account with Bank of America for at least 3 months and you havenβt had an overdraft you can get a credit card. The thing about this is, and I have no idea how it is legal, the people getting the bank accounts and credit cards donβt have SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS. What is going on?????? My first question is how are undocumented people getting bank accounts? The last time I opened an account I had to provide every piece of evidence I had to prove my identity and people are just being handed bank accounts and credit cards??? How is this happening.
WHEN LOVE LOOKS
How does Love Look?
Could it ever look like me?
When Love looks in the mirror
How does love see?
Does Love look with eyes of Compassion?
Does Love perceive with gentleness?
Is Love a form of comliness
Tall and stately righteousness
How does Love look?
Our Little Lady
Our little 13 year old lady did not want to go out in all this ice and snow that we are having on Valentine’s Day in the Washington, DC area. So I dressed her in sweater, booties, hat and she just stood and barked at me. So I undressed her and put her in my lunch basket on my pink bike and rolled her down the street.
Well, Diamond, our little lady certainly did like that. She, as well as our other family doggies, Shadow, Lily, Roxy, and Ranger would all like to say Happy Valentine’s Day to all The Lilies. By the way they all (other doggies) braved the cold, snow and ice without a glitch.
The Battle of the Bulge
Some years ago I wrote this song and I have been going around singing it recently. It has a marching beat to give you an up and go attitude.
A friend of mine once told me to Jan-Feb. Her idea of this was jam all your indoor work into January and February so when the first signs of spring show up in March outdoors one could go. I think it a pretty neat idea but I am not much on this indoor drudgery work for two long months of cold weather with snow and ice. I have been singing and trying to stay in the now and appreciate the beauty of the snow. Well, that is the way it is in my area. How is the weather in your area?
Chorus:
Go forth, go forth ye servants of Zion!
Take every thought of your mind captive
And the battle of the bulge will go away
And the battle of the bulge will go away.
John 3:16
“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
THAT HE GAVE
HIS ONLY
BEGOTTEN
SON
THAT WHO SO EVER
BELIEVETH IN HIM
SHOULD NOT PERISH,
BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.”

Facing Your Giants
As I watched the DVD – Facing Your Giants, I wondered how many are plagued
by giants that are tearing them to pieces on a daily basis. When do we,
myself included, say that’s enough!! The Lord tells us that He has placed
an open window for us who believe to walk through to escape. How in the
world do we do that?
Black History Month
In 1926,, Black History Week was originated by Carter G. Woodson to be celebrated in the month of February, when we especially honor the many excellent contributions that Black Americans have made to the nation in Traditional Culture, Religion, Entertainment, Government, Sports, the Arts, the Military, and many other arenas. Black History Week eventually became Black History Month.
The following are a collection of thought-provoking quotes by some notable men and women of the the African American community, for our contemplation and edification.
